The Utilita energy hub, in Newport, is turning pink throughout October, to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

Colleagues and customers will come together for a series of fund-raising activities from October 5 to 30, including coffee mornings, home-made cupcake sales, handcrafted pink crystal-bead bracelets, and a raffle.

Coffee mornings will take place at the Newport High Street, on October 5, 16, 19 and 30, giving residents the chance to enjoy refreshments while supporting the charity.

Raffle tickets will also be available for £1, with a luxury hamper up for grabs. The winning ticket will be drawn at 3pm on October 30.

Utilita energy expert, Sarah Hutton, is also taking on a 200-mile walking challenge throughout October, after two close relatives, including her mother, were affected by breast cancer.

Sarah said: “Thanks to the incredible advances in research, treatment, and care over the years, my mum is still with us today, and for that I will be forever grateful.

“I’m dedicating 100 miles to each of my relatives who have faced breast cancer. Every mile represents their strength, courage, and determination.”
She hopes the challenge will raise awareness and support Breast Cancer Now’s research and services.

Newport utilita energy hub supervisor, Dan Green, said: “At the heart of our hub is supporting the communities we serve, and we’re proud to be coming together this October to raise funds for such an important cause.

“We’d encourage local residents to pop in, enjoy a coffee and cake, buy a raffle ticket, or simply help spread the word.”

All proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Now.
