New attractions for Ventnorville

Ventnorville, Ventnor’s own annual Christmas town event, is celebrating its fifth birthday this year, by adding an extra day – and some new events – to the programme of festivities.

Taking place over the weekend of November 30 –  December 2, Ventnorville will feature all the usual favourite attractions and entertainment, but with the addition of an ice rink and a cake baking competition.

The programme includes the event’s now-familiar Winter Carnival Lantern Parade, Carol Singing in the Park, The Arts and Crafts Market and the Country market, Dog fancy Dress, the Santa Dash on the beach, plus Santa’s Grotto and visits by The Grinch.

Last year’s addition of a festive market with traditional wooden chalets, music, mulled wine, roast chestnuts and kids’ rides was such a great success that it’s being expanded for this year.

Meanwhile the two all-new events will be a 12m x 12m synthetic Ice Rink at the Winter Gardens, plus a cake competition cheekily dubbed the ‘Ventnor Bay-ke Off’.

All in all, the town will be buzzing with music and events in various locations and the weekend offers a chance to browse for Christmas gifts or sample the town’s shops, bars and eateries. More information can be found on the website www.loveventnor.co.uk
