Multiple vehicle crash on Fairlee Road

Emergency services attended a multiple vehicle collision on the outskirts of Newport this afternoon Tuesday (November 13).

The incident happened on Fairlee Road, near to the turning for Island Harbour just before 2pm.

It appears that a van has collided with a car before coming to rest in a hedge.

Police and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended the incident.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said three people were injured with one refusing treatment and two others being examined by paramedics.

The road remained open in both directions.
