More anti-social behaviour in Lake

By Press Release Nov 1, 2022

Members of Lake Parish Council are calling for more police action to combat increased anti-social behaviour in Lake and across the Bay, following a spate of incidents at the weekend.

Parish chairman, Cllr Paul Brading, said: “We’ve seen the vandalism of the toilets in Lake Cliff Gardens, [and] graffiti on signs and other locations, following incidents at Battery Gardens, and we are in talks with Sandown and Shanklin to look at sharing resources and meet with statutory agencies and the Police & Crime Commissioner’.

Lake Parish Council is currently investing in new toilets on Lake Cliff Path and consulting on plans for new facilities at New Road, and councillors are encouraging local residents to report incidents to the police.

Vice-chairman, Cllr Adrian Whittaker, added: “The ongoing anti-social behaviour of a mindless few adds to the costs of providing services and could stop us investing in new activities and services. We are talking to the police about possible a stronger local presence.”
