May sunshine is wanted for Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair

Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair, a day-long festival of music, set in the stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, takes place on Saturday, May 11.

From its successful launch in 2011, the family-friendly festival has been gaining momentum with fantastic bands and artists each year, along with locally-produced food, children’s activities, tea tent and a real ale tent!

Special guest artists this year include Mississippi Macdonald, 3 Daft Monkeys and Ruthless Blues.

As well as the main stage, the popular ‘beer tent acoustic stage’ will provide a full and varied programme of some of the Island’s best folk & blues musicians.

Confirmed acts include: The Raw Blues Project, Sorrel Nation, Hashtag, The Bohemians, Damien Paul Band, Brighstone Barnacles, Wild Roses, Ben Jordan, Rose & Ed, VULGA (Ventnor Ukes), The Country Bumkins and Moonshine Border Morris.

The festival raises funds for Leukaemia Research/Cancer Support and Brighstone School. Tickets cost £12 in advance (£14.00 on day). Children 12 and under are free. Advance tickets are available from Waterstone’s Bookshop, Newport, the Village Shop, Brighstone, Briddlesford Lodge Farm Shop, Wootton Bridge and Orchard Brothers in Freshwater Bay.
