Love is in the air next Thursday…

By Press Release Feb 18, 2024
Thursday, 29th February is traditionally known as the date when women can propose to men and there are a number of stories about how that came to be. Medina Bookshop in Cowes will certainly be full of the joys of spring with various stories of love being recounted by three of the Island’s most captivating storytellers.
Monty Dawners, Sue Bailey and Holly Medland Lees performing collectively as ‘Tis Tales’ and ‘Love And Where It Takes You’ will be an entertaining evening of stories revealing love in all its glorious colours. A wife plays a trick on her husband, a soldier holds a secret and a woman has a tough choice selecting a husband, the audience will delight to discover the funny, thoughtful and shocking places that love can take you in these wonderful traditional stories.
Sue Bailie is a passionate exponent of the art of storytelling and as well as being a thoroughly engaging performer in her own right, over the past few years she has also brought some of the best international talents to a whole host of venues and festivals across the Island, though few will have been as cosy as the snug surrounds of Medina Bookshop.
Sue said: “We had such a wonderful time when we last performed at Medina Bookshop, it’s so intimate and surrounded by all those hundreds of books, well, what better place for us to tell our stories?”
A magical evening is guaranteed for all.
Medina Bookshop can be found on Cowes High Street and the event takes place at 6.30pm on Thursday, 29th February. Tickets are £7 and can be purchased in advance here, by phone (01983 300044) or in person. With very limited seating booking is essential.
