Gallipoli Company, the Island’s contingent of Hants & IW Army Cadet Force, held an open evening in Freshwater last week.

Members of 4 Troop (Freshwater) welcomed young people aged 12-18, who came along to experience the activities which could be on offer to each as a member of the Army Cadet Force.

Activities include fieldcraft, camp-craft, cooking and rations, first aid, and a laser gun range, as well as an introduction to lots of the equipment used by the Army Cadets.

Refreshments and a recruitment video were also available, and staff and existing cadets were on hand to answer any questions.
Among those attending were Lord Lieutenant Susie Sheldon, along with High Sheriff Graham Biss and Cllr Ian Dore, Armed Forces Champion at the IW Council.
