Children and families, from Lanesend Primary School, donated a large collection of food to the IW foodbank, in Cowes, as part of their Harvest Festival celebrations.
School council pupils, joined by Head of School, Miss Mather, visited the foodbank to hand over the donations gathered during the school’s harvest appeal.
Families were invited to contribute items from the foodbank’s “most wanted” list for October, with pupils helping to organise and deliver the collection. The food will now be distributed to local people in need across the Cowes area.
Miss Mather said the school was proud to support the community and teach pupils the importance of helping others. She added that the generosity of Lanesend families showed how much difference can be made when people work together.
A spokesman from the school thanked everyone who contributed, and said pupils enjoyed seeing first-hand how their efforts will help others.
