Joe back home for film screening in Cowes

An audience of over 60 people enjoyed a film night at Cowes Library recently, when the showing was the new 2019 film The Vanishing, released in cinemas in March.

Starring Gerard Butler and Peter Mullan, the film is a psychological thriller based on a true story of three light house keepers who mysteriously disappeared on the remote Flannan Islands in the Outer Hebrides in 1900.

Quoted as being a phenomenally well-made film with magnificent acting by the three main characters, the film was directed by Kristopher Nyholm who made the second series of The Killing and was co-written by Joe Bone and Celyn Jones.

Joe who is well known in Cowes, was born on the Isle of Wight, grew up in Newport and went to Cowes High School. He was at the evening and gave a question and answer session afterwards.

Joe said: “It was amazing to experience the film in the place where much of it was written, and all the more satisfying to see so many friendly faces in the crowd. Thanks to Joyce and Adam at Cowes Library for putting on such a splendid event, and I look forward to many more screenings in the future.”
