Isle of Wight Council issues statement on Coronavirus

The leader of the Isle of Wight Council, Councillor Dave Stewart, today advised Island residents that they are able to keep up to date with information on coronavirus by checking government webpages.

Councillor Dave Stewart said: “National government webpages are being regularly updated, so anyone who is looking for information should check there first.

“The Isle of Wight Council is monitoring the situation carefully, and we have been working closely with partners in Public Health England and the NHS both here and on the mainland.

“Our Emergency Planning teams are working in close consultation with our health Partners and I am confident that we are well-prepared should a situation develop on the Island.

“However at this time I can confirm that no cases or concerns have been raised for the Isle of Wight.”
