Hovertravel updates uniforms for 60th anniversary year

Hovertravel has launched a new staff uniform, its first full refresh since 2016 to mark the company’s 60th anniversary.

The update has been designed in collaboration with employees to ensure it suits the practical needs of staff working across a variety of roles, often in exposed and changeable weather conditions.

Loretta Lale, head of marketing, said: “We’re delighted to launch our new uniform, which has been shaped by our team and made to reflect both the professionalism of our service and the day-to-day realities of the job.

“Our staff are outside in all types of weather, rain, wind, cold and heat and their uniform needs to offer reliable protection as well as comfort. It’s also important they are easily recognisable and present a smart, consistent appearance to customers.”

The new design includes fully waterproof and windproof jackets, flexible and durable trousers, and breathable shirts and blouses. The garments have been selected for comfort, ease of wear and a professional appearance suitable for both terminal and onboard duties.

Hovertravel has operated the world’s longest-running passenger hovercraft service since 1965. The updated uniform forms part of the company’s 60th anniversary celebrations taking place throughout 2025.
