Hovertravel suspended due to technical issue

Hovertravel has suspended its service on Saturday morning (November 10).

Customers should seek alternative arrangements for crossing from Ryde to Portsmouth.

The company said it will put out hourly updates on the service and let customers know if anything changes.

The cross-Solent operators managing director Neil Chapman recently announced plans to provide a more reliable service by changing the schedule from a 15 minute to a 30 minute turnaround.

He hopes this will help with breakdown issues, always having one craft in reserve.
