Despite treacherous conditions, three Island sides secured wins against mainland opposition, with the men’s side maintaining their lead at the top of their division.
IW Men’s 1st XI won 6-1 away at Poole, with a hat-trick from Joe Arnold and 2 from club stalwart, Adam Payne, including a penalty shot. The win took the Island side 3 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Swanage & Wareham, at the top of South Central Division Two South.
IW Ladies’ 1st XI won 3-2 at home to Havant, including first half field goals from Sophie Parkhouse and Evie Fairhurst, with the win putting the Islanders in sixth place in South Central Division One. Polly Rider was player of the match and was involved in setting up Mia Lawrence for the winning goal.
IW Men’s II XI won 3-2 at home to Aldershot & Farnham, including field goals from Thomas Young in the first half, and a second half winner from Barry Lloyd.
