£1,250 was raised for Mountbatten, following a recent charity concert by the Slipshod Singers, at Freshwater Memorial Hall.
They were joined by guest soloist, Hannah Brear, who has performed at Carnegie Hall, in New York, with ‘Wouldn’t it be Lovely’ among several popular numbers.
Also joining the Slipshods were the piano duet, Helen Parry and Michael Reynolds, playing ‘Fascination’ and ‘Blue Yonder’ among others.
The Slipshods also performed renditions of sea songs, old favourites, and songs from the shows, including ‘Bring him Home’, from Les Miserables, aided by the multi-talented tenor, Michael Doyle. The audience of around 100 had a wonderful evening.
