Bembridge & Vectis on target against Brading

On a wet weekend there were hat-tricks for Bembridge’s Michael Brown, Binstead’s Sam Hart and Ventnor’s prolific Emerson Tattersall. Newport shared a 6 goal Wessex thriller, with 5 goals for Wight Eagles’ Millie May Tinsley and 3 for Kira Smith in Hampshire.

IW Divisions One and Two
Division One leaders won 4-0 at home to High Park, with second half goals from Billy Gladdis, Aidan Sainsbury and sub Dan Pearson. Goals from Euan St John Biggs and Billy Backshall saw Cowes Sports Res win 2-0 away at Northwood.
Another Emerson Tattersall hat-trick helped Ventnor secure a 5-0 home win against Osborne Coburg, with 1 apiece from Liam Harper and player of the match Sonny Mulholland. Bembridge & Vectis won 4-1 at home to Brading, with skipper Michael Brown netting a hat-trick and Keiron Sibbick adding another, with the consolation goal from Alex Boirand.
Division Two early leaders East Cowes Sports won 4-2 at home to Niton, with 2 goals from Andy Ebbs and 1 apiece from Tom McDowell and Gary Richardson. Sandown & Lake won 2-1 away at Newchurch, and the visitors struck in either half through Ethan Dicker and Alex Breingnan, with Joe Books on target for Newchurch.
East Cowes Vics Res, whose first team didn’t have a game, won 6-1 away at Seaview, with goals from Aedan Cooke (2), Cruz Wragg, Kudzaishe Mazambara, Liam Newbold and Toby Snow securing the points. Binstead COB won 3-2 away at Pan, with Zak Sullivan, Matt Walter and sub Paul Dodd netting the winner for the Binmen.

Combinations One and Two
Combination One leaders W&B won 1-0 away at Bembridge & Vectis Res with Mark Augustus on target. Goals from Connor Coburn, Leo Jones, Jack Williams and Brad Gamble in the 91st minute saw visitors Brading Res draw 4-4 at High Park Res.
Veterans and youth combined to see Shanklin Res win 6-0 at home to Osborne Coburn. There were 2 goals apiece for the ‘experienced’ Iain Seabrook and Peter Wilson, with 16 year olds Elliott Yardley and sub Sam Blaize at the far post getting. Fellow 16 year-old Matt Manning kept a clean sheet in goal. Oakfield Res won 4-2 away at Ventnor Res, with consolation goals from Jason Kennett and sub Charlie Tighe.
High Park A continued their winning start to the season, with a 5-1 home win over Bembridge A in Combination Two. Ben Chandler scored Newchurch Reserves consolation goal in the 5-1 defeat away at Binstead COB, who scored through a Sam Hart treble, with 1 apiece for Dan Murphy and Darrius Gambi.

Wessex
With Cowes’ match postponed, Division One’s Newport drew 3-3 at home to Ringwood. Ji Nash opened the scoring for ‘Port from close range, but the lead was short-lived with Macauley Waterson’s foul conceding a penalty.’Port regained the lead when a cross from player of the match Joe Butcher was punched into the goal by the visitors’ keeper. After the break, Ringwood levelled, followed by Ji Nash completing a move started by Joe Butcher. With the game end-to-end, Ringwood grabbed an equaliser and the points were shared.

Women’s League
Wight Eagles won 9-1 away at AFC Varsity Res, in Hants Division Two, with 5 goals from player of the match Millie May Tinsley, a hat-trick from Kira Smith and 1 from Ellena Boakes secured the much deserved 3 points.
