Ryde Harriers run in Gosport Half Marathon

A team of 28 Ryde Harriers and supporters travelled over to the mainland last weekend to take part in the Gosport Half Marathon, joining a field of 1,375 runners.

Fastest Harrier to the finish for the men’s team was Chris Newnham, in 1h 11m 8s for seventh overall, followed by Ross Holme in 1h 16m14s. Completing the team was Daniel Furmidge, in 1h 16m 59s, who also collected the first Vet 50 prize.

For the Harrier ladies’ team, Bethany Howarth’s run for her debut as a Ryde Harrier, finished in 1h 21m 1s, taking the second Lady and first senior female prizes. Jenna Williams, another relatively new member, in 1h 36m 20s. Gemma Maddocks completed the ladies team, coming in 1h 49m 19s.
