#Hairy4HIOWAA: Grow a beard or craft one to raise air ambulance funds

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) want you to get behind their December campaign, “Hairy 4 HIOWAA” and have a Hairy Merry Christmas!

This December, everyone is urged to get involved to show support for the vital service provided by the Air Ambulance.

Gentleman can download a Get Hairy pass from the charity website, which entitles the bearer to put the razor down for a month and grow a glorious beard or tash for cash!

Women are asked to join the fun and raise some money by getting creative with make-up or wearing a fake beard for a day, in return for a £2 donation to HIOWAA.

Even children can take part by getting crafty and making their own beards from paper, cardboard or cotton wool.

The really adventurous can get messy and make a beard from shaving foam, squirty cream or spaghetti and clean it off with a bath-time bubble beard!

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Director of Fundraising, Rachel Leaman, said: “The aim of Hairy 4 HIOWAA is simple; we want supporters to have some festive fun whilst helping to raise vital funds to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.

“We don’t stop for Christmas and New Year. Our doctors, paramedics and pilots will be here every day, ready to respond to emergencies across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. But we can only continue to do this with the support of our community. It’s your donations that help to provide our life-saving service, 365 days a year.”

Show off your festive faces by sharing photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #Hairy4HIOWAA. For more ideas and to donate, visit the Charity website www.hiowaa.org.
