GoFundMe campaign launched after animals die in pet centre blaze

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the Isle of Wight Pet Centre in Newport following a devastating fire that broke out late on Monday night (November 5).

The fundraising campaign, setup by Kerry Lawson, is raising money to aid the centre’s recovery and in memory of the birds, mammals, and reptiles were lost in the fire.

Brolly, the much loved umbrella cockatoo sadly perished in the blaze.

The fund-raising campaign is already trending on GoFundMe, with ÂŁ1,040 already donated by 80 people. The target is ÂŁ1,200.

The IW Fire and Rescue Service said investigations have started into what caused the fire.
