The Solent Seascape Project has now been recognised as an official Decade Action, under the UN Ocean Decade. This endorsement highlights the project’s significant contribution to international goals for marine biodiversity protection and restoration. It also acknowledges the project’s role in advancing ocean science, and building connections between people and the ocean.
Rosalie Wright, project co-ordinator at Blue Marine Foundation, said: “We are immensely proud that the Solent Seascape project has been recognised internationally by such a prestigious institution. We look forward to working alongside and learning from this network to collectively achieve change for our ocean, at a local and global scale.”
The work being done in the Solent has the potential to make a global difference in combating climate change. For more information visit iw.observer/solent-seascape.
