The Awakening, a festival dedicated to wellbeing and self-care, which debuted on the Isle of Wight last month, is joining cosmic forces with the brilliant new family festival The Great Wonderfest, to curate a beautiful holistic wellbeing retreat experience.
The Awakening Retreat will consist of multiple curated spaces, as well as Swedish Hot Tubs, massage, hammocks under the ancient oak trees, and therapy pods with a wonderful range of treatments on offer.
The Awakening Inspiration Tent is set to be the ultimate in inspiration and self care with talks including ‘Spark Conversations’ and ‘Tent Talks’ focused on conscious living and wellbeing topics. Special guest speakers will include author and food blogger Emily Leary who will be sharing inspiration from her book ‘How to Get Your Kids to Eat Anything’, and DJ legend and Life Coach Brandon Block who will be sharing his experiences and recommendations for living ‘Happy Days’.
Throughout the weekend The Awakening Inspiration Tent will keep minds and hearts vibing each day with mindfulness, breathing and empowering confidence sessions for kids and adults with Natalie Costa of Power Thoughts and The Big Breather with Aimee Hartley as well as interactive and fun goal mapping sessions with Brian Mayne, alongside practical Self Care Sessions from aromatherapy and botanical garden medicine through to creating family vision boards. The Awakening curator Kate Taylor will also be hosting an Activate Your Magic session, as well as a fun session to bust limiting beliefs based around song titles of The Great Wonderfest’s Sunday headliner Busted.
Kate Taylor, curator of The Awakening says, “I’m delighted with the range of offerings we will have at The Awakening Retreat at The Great Wonderfest over the weekend, it’s going to be an oasis of zen and inspiration in our little slice of heaven within the festival. There’s something so magical about bringing together a programme of delights that you just know is going to offer something for everyone; a little delight as as well as a bit of breathing space to stretch out and relax throughout the weekend.”
Throughout the weekend The Awakening Studio sees a programmed arena of active and relaxation sessions including a wide range of yoga sessions for all levels and all ages, starting the day with a special ‘Wake Up Wonderfest’ breath & movement session, Hypno Energising meditation masterclasses, Qoya: You are Your Own Superhero movement session, Sound Healing, an introduction to hypnobirthing, acro dance workshops, Yoga & Pilates fusion, and even a yoga dance rave with a live DJ set with Rascal Raves to get your Om & Bass on to.
Under The Awakening Retreat Magical Mandala Tree there will be creative mindfulness magic sessions for younger ones to make their own superpower wands, dream catchers and weaving gratitudes throughout the weekend. There will also be a special performance of modern fable Enki by Alex Lambie, helping us to engage with the power of compassion, a Singing Mamas workshop to uplift and exercise the vocal chords, as well as a beautiful Kirtan singing and chanting session each day with Maitri & Lucy.
The Self Care programme includes some luxury with a variety of holistic treatments, the Indulge Me Pamper Lounge, a Unicorn Day hosted by Pat A Pony Therapy Ponies, Mobile Counselling, Cloud Massage Therapists, Relax IOW’s Holistic Therapy Treatments, Duxmore Botanics, IOW Pearl and a Glitter Bar Beauty Salon for the full retreat and revive experience. The Great Wonderfest really does have something for everyone.
