The award-winning Vectis Radio 4Ps project has received a financial boost from the local freemasons.

The 4Ps project helps young people with additional needs improve their confidence and communication abilities using the medium of radio. Freemason, Tim Lewis, was so impressed with the results and what the station does for the local community that he arranged for a donation from his lodge.

A cheque for £250 from Vectensian Lodge, based in Ryde, was presented to charity trustee, Maggie Currie. She said: “Much of our work is funded by the benevolence of others and on behalf of the board of trustees and the future students of the 4Ps. I would like to thank the master and the brethren of Vectensian Lodge for this generous donation.”

Tim said: “Following my recent visit to Vectis Radio, I had no hesitation in applying for a donation from my lodge. One of the founding principles of freemasonry is charitable giving, and being able to donate to such a worthy local cause underlines that commitment to society.”
