Yarmouth Harbour is offering two hours of free parking in the Pier Square pay-and-display car park (in front of Gossips’ Cafe) for the duration of the bridge being out of action for refurbishment over the next six weeks.
Businesses in the town have held two meetings in the last week to discuss how they can attract visitors during the diversion, and will announce more details next week.
The Clarke family have also opened their field, free of charge, at the beginning of Gasworks Lane (at the bottom of Hallets Shute), so anyone travelling from the Freshwater area can park there and walk over the bridge during the closure.
