Freshwater business, Tyres of Wight, is to close for personal reasons after the owner, Chris Plant, said he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Chris, who started the 24-hour mobile tyre-fitting business from Colwell Lane, in 2017, confirmed: “With little lady soon arriving, we think this is the right time to say our goodbye! Family is so important and I have missed out so much due to the hours I work and I’m not getting younger.
“I started tyre-fitting at 15 and have absolutely loved every minute of it; I have met some amazing people along the way and some even more amazing people whilst working on the Island! Your support has been truly humbling.
“The passing of my old man really hit me hard, as I never had time, never properly, got to say goodbye I always put work first.
“So, now I think it’s the perfect time to make this change and begin new adventures!
Following in the old man’s footsteps, I’m now currently in the process of renewing my CPC to go and drive a lorry again.
“May I take this chance to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You have been the best!”
Former customers took to Facebook to wish Chris well for the future, with one saying: “Family always comes first; we don’t get a second go.”
