Do you have an interest in writing and want to be published?

Felicity Fair Thompson

A day for all Islanders with an interest in writing will be held at Carisbrooke Priory just outside Newport, on Saturday, September 7.

An exciting programme of workshops and panel discussions is planned, and there will be ample opportunity for aspiring and established writers to network. Authors who wish to sell their books will be encouraged to do so.

Genres of literature to be covered include fiction, biography, memoir, writing about taboo subjects, and writing for screen and theatre. There will also be a poetry workshop and poetry readings, and a panel discussion on ‘getting published’, including self-publishing.

Local author and member of the organising team, Felicity Fair Thompson, said: “This will be such an exciting day, with the chance to talk to other writers and compare notes and ideas, discuss ways forward for your work, and sell your books! A day of real inspiration you won’t want to miss!”

All with an interest in writing are welcome to attend. To reserve your place email admin@carisbrookepriory.org.uk. Early booking is advised as spaces are limited.

The cost for the day is £20 – payable by cash on the day. A table for authors to sell their books is £5 extra; to reserve a table, email: ffair77@btinternet.com.

The Priory café will be open for tea and coffee, and participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. For any enquiries about the day – please ring Andrew on 07503 200630.
