Do you have a photogenic four-legged friend?

By Carole Dennett Aug 24, 2020

Dog lovers of the Island rejoice. It’s International Dog Day on Wednesday (August 26) and your favourite local newspaper will be marking it by printing photos of some of the Island’s cutest pooches on Friday (August 28).

Over the recent lockdown many of us have spent more time than ever with our beloved pets and that has given us the opportunity to appreciate how lucky we are to have them in our lives. We’re all dog lovers at the IW Observer, so we plan to celebrate man’s (and woman’s) best friends and show how important they are in our lives.

Whether your favourite four-legged friend is well-bred with impressive Kennel Club certificates or a cross-breed rescue (like Pickle above), if you’d like to see them in the paper next week then send your photos over to us at newsdesk@iwobserver.co.uk or post them here on our Facebook page.

Friends of the Animals founder Helen Sinclair MBE will be judging all entries and the winner will be presented with a bag full of goodies for their dog.

So share this post with dog-owning friends and get out your cameras and phones and send us a photo of your dog, tell us their names and what he or she is up to. You can even include their humans, but the goodies are strictly for the stars of the show.

The deadline to get your photos to us is 5pm on Wednesday (August 26). We’re really looking forward to seeing all your entries.
