Cowes Men’s Shed find new members

The Cowes Men’s Shed have held a recruitment event, attended by Deputy Lieutenant Nick Oultan and Cowes Mayor, Cllr Lora Peacey-Wilcox. A hog-roast was held, and a number of new people signed taking the number of members into the 70s.

Everyone aged 18 or over is welcome to join the Shed, a Community Project by Storeroom 2010, a furniture re-use charity and supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. The Shed is at 25-26 Somerton Industrial Park and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm with free parking on the estate.

Facilities at the Shed include a well equipped carpentry workshop, hobby/break room and horticultural areas, some with polytunnels. The Cowes Men’s Shed also has a project leader who is on hand at all times to help members, or simply sit and have a chat and a cuppa with them.
