National Dog Day was celebrated by residents at a Cowes care home with visits from cuddly canines and their owners.
A plea went out on social media requesting whether anyone had a well-behaved dog that they could bring to visit the Old Charlton House residents on the day to make it a special occasion for them.
A total of 10 visited throughout the course of the day, and they went around the home saying hello to everyone and giving cuddles and kisses, receiving pats and fuss in return.
Activity coordinator, Debbie Webb, said: “We would like to thank everyone who so generously gave up their precious time to bring their dogs to visit us. They have no idea just how important a role they have played in bringing positivity, happiness and joy to our residents.
“As soon as we entered each room their gaze focussed on the dogs and their immediate reaction was to smile. The residents had an absolute ball and it was a brilliant day.”
