Jack Up Events has announced that the 2024 Jack Up Summer Party held last weekend will be the festival’s final event for the foreseeable future.
Joint organisers, Alex Dyke and Sarah Moss, have decided to take a break from the festival circuit after this summer’s celebration, which marked the tenth anniversary of the much-loved 1980s-themed festival on the Isle of Wight.
The first Jack Up Summer Party was held in 2013 as a one-off celebration of the1980s, but its unexpected popularity led to it becoming an annual event. Over the past decade, the festival has evolved, capturing the hearts of loyal audiences eager to relive nostalgic memories.
In a heartfelt message, Alex and Sarah expressed their gratitude to the festival-goers who have supported them over the years. They explained that the festival industry has changed significantly since Jack Up’s inception, particularly on the Island, with the market now oversaturated.
Despite the decision to end the Jack Up Summer Party, Alex and Sarah assured fans that there are still good times to come, highlighting their plans for the future, which include hosting more outdoor events at their glamping site, Retro Staycations in Ryde, as well as various theatre shows and tours that will continue to embody the spirit of Jack Up by celebrating good times.
