An Island resident living with Parkinson’s has completed a remarkable walk around the Islands coastal path to raise funds for charity.

Caroline Linton, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s three years ago, took on the 70 mile challenge to support others living with the condition. She completed the walk in sections over several days, supported by family and friends along the way.

The walk raised funds for Cure Parkinson’s which provides information, research and support to people with Parkinson’s across the UK.

Caroline said: “I wanted to show that a diagnosis doesn’t mean giving up the things you love. The Island’s coast path is beautiful and being out in nature really helps me. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me.”

The money raised will go towards helping others with Parkinson’s live well and stay active, while also funding research into improved treatments.

Helen Matthews, speaking on behalf of the charity, said: “We’re so proud of Caroline, her determination and spirit are an inspiration, and the funds she’s raised will make a real difference.”
