A special evening of dance took place at Arreton Community Centre on Friday, June 20, as friends and students came together to celebrate a milestone in local dance instructor, Graeme Smith’s career, 50 years since he first took to the floor.
The event, organised by Strictly Dance IW, marked Graeme’s half-century in the world of ballroom and Latin dance, from his early training and international competitions to his appearance on the BBC’s Come Dancing and his long career as a teacher.
Originally from Cambridge, Graeme taught across the east of England, before relocating to the Island five years ago. Alongside his partner, he now runs Strictly Dance IW, offering dance lessons and social events across the Island.
