Bloody assault in Cross Street Ryde leaves man with facial injuries

A 32-year-old man has suffered facial injuries after a town centre assault. 

Police confirmed details of the incident that saw part of Cross Street cordoned off in the early hours of Sunday morning (July 22).

A large blood stain has since been cleaned off the street outside The Christmas Imaginarium store and Malcolm Daniells & Co.

Smaller blood splatters are still visible on the pavement in the direction of Union Street.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Just after 3am on Sunday (July 22) officers were called to Cross Street, Ryde to reports of an assault.

“The victim, a 32-year-old man from Ryde, has suffered facial injuries.”
