By Isle of Wight ObserverThe often congested Staplers Road in Newport will become even more congested in the new year, when a one way system will be needed for Southern Water carry out maintenance work.
A Southern Water spokesman said: “We intend to use a one way traffic management system towards Newport and local diversions leaving Newport.”
Southern Water will be commencing work at Staplers Road on Monday, January 7, and the work will continue until mid-April.
Southern Water has promised those living in the part of the road where the work is to be carried out will have access for their vehicles at all times.
Cars leaving Newport will be able to use Staplers Road as normal, but vehicles going towards the town centre will be diverted through either Wootton or Blackwater.
