All Saints Primary Freshwater reports outstanding results

All Saints Primary school in Freshwater has just reported results placing it among the best on the Island. The school has been earmarked by IW Council for closure in April 2020.

All Year 6 children achieved the expected standard in reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling in SATs tests, with a number achieving the ‘higher standard’ in these subjects.

Combined scores for the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics were achieved by an outstanding 90.9 per cent of children (compared with 35 per cent in 2016, 40 per cent in 2017 and 50 per cent in 2018), with some children ranking as ‘high attainers’ in these subjects.

Chair of Governors, Dr Catherine Powell, said: “These results reflect brilliantly on the hard work of the children, parents, teaching and support staff and the guidance and leadership of the headteacher.”
