Island residents are being urged to take swift action to secure funding and support through the ‘Safe and Warm’ scheme, aimed at helping vulnerable households keep their homes warm and energy-efficient.
The initiative, funded by SGN, and delivered locally by Green Isle of Wight, provides invaluable benefits such as personalised energy advice, help with heating costs, and support with carbon monoxide alarms. But residents must act quickly, as time to apply is running out.
Lisa Beaney, of Green Isle of Wight, emphasised the urgency. She said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be delivering this project, which allows us to provide real, practical help to Islanders. Even though spring is approaching, we strongly encourage you to get in touch now. This scheme won’t be around forever, so now is the time to take action.”
The scheme also provides advice on making homes more energy efficient, along with small but important improvements such as draught-proofing, thermal curtains, and distributing blankets and heaters.
Islanders can contact Green Isle of Wight on 01983 668900 or email info@greeniow.org.uk for more information or to take part in the scheme.
