A boost for IW’s newest pantry

By Press Release May 19, 2023

Wightfibre has made a donation of £500 to the Pyle Street Pantry, which opened its doors to the community on May 3.

The pantry is based inside the Newport Congregational Church in Pyle Street and is currently open on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm. Like other community pantries on the Island, anyone struggling to put food on the table in the current cost of living crises can register to make use of the Pyle Street Pantry.

Once you have signed up, a donation of £5 will give at least £15 worth of fresh, tinned and frozen food options.

WightFibre already supports the Newport Congregational Church through their Connected Communities Programme, with a free broadband connection.

A company spokesman said: “This donation to The Pyle Street Pantry is just another example of WightFibre helping the community where they can, because they care.”
