Publican Adrian Evans, one of Yarmouth RNLI’s newest recruits, is well known for pouring pints, but now he’s pouring his heart into his volunteer job.
This week, Adey received his RNLI Reindeer Run medal after a busy December. During the month, as well as managing the town’s Wheatsheaf Inn full-time, and completing his initial training, he ran 33 miles – 11 more miles than the 24-mile target he was set.
He also raised a total of £179 for the charity. A Yarmouth RNLI spokesman said: “Thank you, Adey, for taking part in this fun fund-raising activity, and a big thank you to those who supported him. Every mile in the 24-mile reindeer run marks an hour that our crews are on call every day – including Christmas Day!
“There’s a variety of ways that people take part including Parkruns, track runs or setting daily running goals! All of which are very impressive! We couldn’t be prouder of Adey.”
