By Isle of Wight ObserverWestival of the Dead in aid of Cancer Research UK Relay For Life IW returns to Strings Bar & Venue on Saturday (October 13).
Westival was originally a big birthday party which evolved into Westival of the Dead for 2018.
In the middle of a snowstorm back in March, people travelled from all over the Island and mainland to attend the fundraising fiesta.
Dawn West, who organised the original event said: “It was crazy as we had no idea who anyone was with their makeup, but it was so much fun trying to figure out who was who!
“So we decided to do it in aid of Cancer Research UK Relay For Life IW which we volunteer for, celebrating the lives of lost loved ones and thinking of those who are still fighting!
“We have just had Relay For Life and we are looking at this as the official after party celebrating everyone’s amazing achievement of raising over £12,000 which goes to Southampton General Hospital and the Oncology Unit.”
On the line up is the one of the Island’s favourite bands, Blonde Bombshell, who really bring the fun factor to any gig and get everyone singing and dancing. Watch out for their insane medleys!
Miles Metric also features who the event organisers first spotted at Isle of Wight Festival and knew right away, if they were ever to have a party he was an absolute must!
Miles is well known across the DJ Circuit around the country and Westival are excited to have him back.
Rumpsteppers are joining the party too, as these guys perform at all the well known festivals and are bringing their UK tour to Newport.
“Last time they even hung from the ceiling and totally took us to the next level of partying,” said Dawn.
“Our special surprise and guest is Luke Lamont and friends! Just expect the unexpected with these guys who will be giving intimate performances of sleight of hand magic, escapology and a few other tricks up their sleeves.”
Fancy dress is advised, face painters Rachel Mann & Kita Carey will be on hand for when you have finished Beer & Buses for a small charge to decorate your faces!
