Weaving, spinning and dyeing open day

IW Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers

The IW Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, is hosting an open day to show their craft skills at Rookley Village Hall, on Saturday from 11am-3pm.

The group will be creating woollen products, using their traditional spinning wheels and portable weaving looms. It has a thriving membership and they are keen to recruit even more enthusiasts to join them at their regular meetings.

Guild chairman, Joy Verrinder, said: “The spinning, weaving and dyeing we enjoy represents some of the oldest craft traditions known, which are still relevant today and will certainly continue to be so in the future.

“What we do as a hobby represents green living at its best, that can produce sustainable and fashionable garments for all the family. Above all, what we do is great fun and you get to meet a welcoming and friendly group of like-minded people.”
