Top view for this Macmillan Coffee Morning

Charlotte Grundy and Debbie Hall

Debbie Hall, from The Plaza Ices, and Charlotte Grundy, from The Little Coffee Bike, joined forces on Friday, September 20, to host a different sort of Macmillan Coffee Morning on Gurnard sea front.

The coffee morning was from two unique vehicles – a solar/electric ice cream van and a coffee tricycle! There were no tables and chairs, but perhaps the best view from among the many Macmillan Coffee Mornings due to take place across the country.

The event was well attended by the local community, and everyone enjoyed teas, coffees, ice creams, cakes and games, from the eco-friendly ice cream van and the eco-friendly coffee bike.

Both businesses trade from the site on a regular basis, but came together to help raise funds for Macmillan.

Debbie said: “This is the third year that The Plaza Ices has hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning on the Gurnard sea front. This year it was great that Charlotte was also keen to take part.

“With support from our amazing cake bakers, friends and customers, both businesses had a wonderful day and collectively raised a total of £671.28.

“We really appreciated that people came from all over the Island and took time out to support us. It was heart-warming to hear just some of the reasons why Macmillan Cancer Support is so important to everyone.”
