Video shows life in care home during pandemic

Springfield Nursing Home, in Shanklin, has produced a video showing how staff and residents have coped though the Covid-19 pandemic. Trying to keep daily life as normal as possible throughout the lockdowns, when residents have been unable to have visitors, staff have helped them keep in touch with family and friends with video calling, letters and cards and any other possible means of communication. The video showing life in the home over the past year was put together by health care assistant Suzi Payne.
Manager, Camelia Gogoasa, said: “I am extremely proud of my staff who have coped exceptionally well during this difficult time. We have been able to offer support to St Mary’s by taking in admissions despite the struggles we faced.
“This video really is a testament to the wonderful team we have here and how much our residents mean to us all.”
