Friends of the Animals are appealing to Islanders to help two inseparable little dogs, who urgently need a forever home. Simba and Topsy, Yorkshire Terrier cross, both eight years old, are brother and sister who have spent their whole lives side by side. They curl up together, walk together, and look for each other the moment one wanders out of sight. The charity says their bond is so strong that separating them simply isn’t an option.
Simba is diabetic and needs insulin injections twice a day, something their new owner will have to be confident with. He is gentle, quiet, and trusting, and although he barks around other dogs, he is not aggressive. Topsy is the livelier of the pair – outgoing, bright‑eyed, and full of character. Both adore cuddles and being close to someone who will give them the love and reassurance they’ve lost.
Friends of the Animals say the pair have already been through enough. They have lost the security of their former home, and are now waiting for someone who can see past Simba’s medical needs and recognise the love these two small dogs have to give. For the right person or couple they will offer unwavering loyalty, affection, and companionship. They would ideally prefer not to compete for their new owner’s affections, so would be best suited to being the only dogs in a house, without young children.
