After several weeks of planning, the Vectis Corps of Drums marching band travelled to Bournemouth last weekend, for a secret performance to mark the opening of the Liberal Democrats’ party conference.
Invited to provide entertainment, the group played alongside leader Sir Ed Davey and MPs who joined in the march.
The event offered an exciting opportunity for the band, with the performance featured on national news channels. While honoured to take part, the band emphasised it is not connected with any political party, but simply enjoys entertaining audiences. A video was filmed during the event as Sir Ed, known for taking part in eye-catching stunts to get attention, gave TV interviews.
