Shanklin’s Triples bowling team of Jamie Norris, Mitch Jones and Mark Roberts beat Ryde Marina’s Alan Cawdell, Dave Wolton and Brian Taplin, to claim the Island’s triples title and secure a trip to the National Finals in Leamington Spa.
In Division One, leaders Cowes Medina A won 9-1 (63-45) away at Shanklin B, Sandown A won 8-2 (71-39) at home to Totland A, Plessey A won 8-2 (61-48) at home to Ventnor A, and Shanklin A won 10-0 (85-35) at home to Ryde Marina A.
In Division Two, Shanklin C won 10-0 (72-36) away at Sandown C, Ventnor B won 9-1 (68-46) at home to leaders Plessey B, Newport A won 10-0 (77-35) away at Ryde Marina B, Camp Hill A won 10-0 (57-49) away at Plessey C, and Shanklin D won 8-2 (76-60) at home to Cowes Medina C.
In Division Three, Shanklin E won 8-2 (68-33.5) at home to Bembridge B, leaders Sandown E won 10-0 (63-33) at home to Ventnor C, with Ventnor C beating Newport B 7-3 (58-52) earlier in the week.
Shanklin also hosted a President’s Day competition, with the President’s Cup won by the Four team of Ed Cummings, Lesley Kemp, Kevin Watts and Bill Howe.
