Pop’s Wood nature reserve, which is the custodian of woodland at Love Lane in Bembridge, has secured a site to create a second nature reserve on the old train track at St Helens.
Now the group is celebrating the donation of an impressive eagle carving by chainsaw artist, Paul Sivell, which will be proudly displayed at the new nature reserve.
Nature warden, Phillip Sard, said: “We would like to thank Paul for creating this beautiful eagle, and donating it to our new nature reserve. It will be in memory of all lost friends and loved ones.
“We are looking forward to safeguarding this important habitat for all wildlife.”
The Pop’s Wood mission is to bring a greater awareness of nature to younger generations and encourage a sustainable future, saving land from unnecessary development and protecting and encouraging wildlife on their sites.
If any individuals or businesses would like to support this work you can donate on-line via iw.observer/popswood-fundraiser or call Phillip on 077420 05282 .
