How about Island Roads saving themselves some time and effort by listing which IW roads will be open in any given week rather than those they will be closing? The “open” list will be far shorter, it seems to me.
There’s also an opportunity for some enterprising Islander to boost tourism by inviting visitors to enter a Motoring Maze competition.
Contestants could be invited to find their way from, say, Fishbourne, Cowes or Yarmouth to their holiday destination through the maze of “Road closed” notices. A special prize for those who follow the “Diversion” signs and end up where they started.
Such fun!
