St Mary’s infamous parking queue returns

Over 20 people are said to be queuing to pay for their parking at St Mary’s Hospital on Monday afternoon (October 1).

Hospital visitors have been standing in the carpark queueing for the machine for some 15 minutes.

Katie Lear was attending an appointment at the hospital when she was faced with the long queue, she said: “I was waiting nearly 15 minutes. More and more people joined the queue and some parking attendants had to come out and assist with the payments.

“Only one machine was working again.”

The infamous parking system was slammed as “not clever” in July as hospital visitors queued for up to 15 minutes.

A spokesman for St Mary’s Hospital said: “We would like to remind visitors to the St Mary’s Hospital site that it is also possible to pay by phone or an App on smart phones. Details can be found on and next to the pay machines in the car park.

“You can call 0345 434 8008 and pay over the telephone. The location code for the St. Mary’s site is 2053. Details for payment by App are available at www.apcoaconnect.com/ and you can download the App from the Apple App Store, the Windows Store and Google Play.”
