Smart new displays at the Bus and Coach Museum

By Press Release Jul 26, 2021

On Monday a refurbished display area at the IW Bus and Coach Museum was officially opened by Cllr Jenna Sabine, Deputy Mayor of Ryde.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony follows several months of behind-the-scenes work to prepare new display cabinets and a new video, “’Bus”, for visitors to view video presentations on the Isle of Wight and related transport subjects.

The work was funded by grants from the Foyle Foundation and the Swire Charitable Trust, substantially improving the quality of the displays of archive materials.

Brian Dicks, secretary of the board of trustees, said: “We are immensely grateful to the two organisations for recognising our work. Their respective grant schemes provide vital support for organisations such as ours.”

The IW Bus Museum will be open throughout the school holidays on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10am to 4pm. All Covid guidelines are being followed.
