Sarah Holmes day two results from final event at Osborne

After a scorching two day affair, our Island rider has come 10th at the Osborne Horse Trials.

Sarah Holmes, 27, from Rookley has never had the pleasure of riding in an eventing competition on the Island before this event in East Cowes at Osborne House.

On Thursday (July 26) she finished the grand prix event and placed 10th in her section riding Lowhill Clover – her own horse.

Miss Holmes had a glittering run and went clear in the show jumping before the final phase.

She also went clear in the cross country event, and in Wednesday’s (July 25) showjumping event riding Greenvale Coriado.

The rider was greeted on both days of the trials to loud applause and cheers.

Miss Holmes commented on Lowhill Clover before the Osborne Horse Trials event.

She told the IW Observer: “I’m taking Lowhill Clover who is one I brought from Goresbridge, Ireland, as an unbroken three-year-old, or my grandad did for me, he is now 16, so I’ve done everything with him. He has competed in Blenheim before so it will be a nice run for him.”
