The skies finally lit up over Sandown on Saturday night, as the delayed fireworks celebration went with a bang.
The fireworks were due to go off on New Year’s Eve, but were postponed due to high winds.
Instead, Sandown Carnival organisers kept their powder dry and waited until Easter to thrill the crowds gathered on the seafront.
A carnival spokesman said: “What a cracking night we had! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us, to all our collectors, and those that donated; we hope you enjoyed it!
“A few special mentions, to Sandown Pier for their continued support towards the event, Trouville Hotel for supplying power to our DJ, and to The Beach Cafe & Sandown Boulevard, who also made kind donations towards the event!”
