Ryde Inshore Rescue has hit back at false rumours that it is being taken over.

A spokesman confirmed: “It has come to our attention that an individual is falsely claiming they are taking over responsibility for Ryde Inshore Rescue, and that they will soon be collecting keys from the Coastguard to access our station. We want to make it absolutely clear: this is completely untrue.

“While we have been off service for a period, our team has been actively training, updating processes, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is in place. Our focus is on being fully prepared to return to service by Easter, with the same dedicated team and mission we’ve always had.

“We are always looking for new volunteers to join us! If you’re interested in becoming part of our team – whether as boat crew, shore crew, or shop staff – please get in touch. We’d love to have a chat and share more about what we do.”
